ANALYSIS AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE SERIES EXPANSION METHODS IN THRESHOLD DETECTOR ACTIVATION DATA HANDLING
Technical Report

The orthonormal and polynomial methods for analyzing activation data were investigated and tested. The effect of the weighting function when the orthonormal methods are used was determined. A development permitting the use of detectors with quasi-linear-dependent cross sections is proposed. The series expansion coefficients are obtained through the Gauss method by solving a least square problem. Activation data were processed using different polynomial expansions. (D.C.W.)
