FISSION PRODUCT YIELD OF INERT GASES
Technical Report

>Xenon and krypton yields in uranium and plutonium fission are discussed. The final percentage of Xe created by flssion in U and Pu is a function of the neutron flux intensity. The flux dependence results because /sup 133/Xe and /sup 135/Xe can be converted to a stable Xe isotope by neutron capture instead of decaying into Cs. The yield of Xe can vary by approximates 9% for U and approximates 8.5% for Pu. Yields of Kr and Xe for various fluxes are tabulated. (P.C.H.)
