ENGINEERING PROPERTIES OF POTASSIUM. Final Report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4031825

Many of the thermodynamic and transport properties of potassium, both liquid and vapor, have been measured for temperatures to 2100 deg F. Experimental values for vapor pressure; specific heat, thermal conductivity, and viscosity of liquid; and P-V-T characteristics have been obtained. Experimental techniques for the direct measurement of the specific heat of potassium vapor and for the measurement of its viscosity and thermal conductivity have also been explored and developed. The latent heat of vaporization, and enthalpy, entropy, and specific heat of potassium vapor have been computed from some of the data obtained. (auth)
