THE B$sup 10$(P,$alpha$)Be$sup 7$ REACTION BETWEEN 2 AND 11 Mev

Excitation functions, cross sections, and angular distributions for alpha particles from the /sup 10/B(p, alpha )/sup 7/Be reaction were measured for laboratory proton energies from 1.8 to 10.8 Mev. These data were analyzed in terms of the presence and properties of levels of the compound nucleus /sup 11/C. The state at 12.65 Mev (E/sub p/ = 4.36 Mev) was tentatively assigned 7/2, and the partial widths for this level GAMMA /sub p/, GAMMA alpha /sub 0/ and GAMMA alpha / sub 1/ were determined. (auth)
