$pi$$sup -$ + p ELASTIC SCATTERING AT 1200 Mev

A bubble chamber investigation of pi /sup -/ + p elastic scattering at 1200 Mev is reported. The total and differential cross-section are determined. By extrapolation of the angular distirbution, the 0 deg cross-section is dervied and compared with the results obtained with the dispersion relations and the optical theorem. The forward peak is investigated in terms of diffraction scattering and a value for the optical radius is derived. (auth)
