Adsorption isotherms for 1,1,1-trichloroethane adsorption on uranium dioxide were obtained gravimetrically in the temperature range 0 to 30$sup 0$C. Adsorption data were evaluated using the BET and Clausius--Clapeyron equations and the potential theory of adsorption. The heat of adsorption was found to vary between 12 and 8 kcal/mole, depending upon the coverage. Using the BET equation the size of the adsorbed CH$sub 3$CCl$sub 3$ molecule was calculated to be 33 +- 5 A$sup 2$. (auth)
