In the determination of the stability, responses, and operation life of an offshore structure, hydrodynamic force is a vital factor. The problem of wave diffraction and radiation from a body can be taken as a boundary value problem of the Laplace equation. For the calculation of wave problem in an unbounded water, the integral equation method has more advantages over some others. The paper presents a novel integral equation for the calculation of wave diffraction and radiation problem. A higher-order element discretization of the integral equation is described. It is shown that the method is capable of providing higher accurate results, and saves computer`s running time than some other published methods.
