CRITICAL MASSES OF COMPOSITES OF Oy AND Pu-239-240 IN FLATTOP GEOMETRY

Three critical plutonium-enriched uranium composites with plutonium of different Pu/sup 240/ content are described. In these systems one gram of Pu/sup 240/ is equivalent to approximately 0.63 grams of Pu/sup 239/ and an analysis is presented which translates this datum to nu (Pu/sup 240/, 2 Mev) = 3.32 plus or minus 0.14 neutrons emitted per Pu/sup 240/ fission induced by a 2 Mev neutron.
