A method is given for measuring the plasma temperature in a plasma jet stream. The method comprises placing a probe of the ablating or non-ablating type into an electrical circuit with one of the electrodes of the plasma generator and measuring the specific electrical conductivity of the plasma. Electrical circuits for use with ablating and non-ablating probes are shown. (D.L.C.)
