A outline is given of work completed in the design of a magnet for the 1- Bev electron synchrotron. Discussions are given of: measurements of the effective coercive forces of the sheet iron and cemented blocks of the yoke; the construction of the yoke and pole pieces; the design of the base for the magnet; the design of the coil; and the power supply.
