Turbulent absorption of a wave with a frequency near or above the lower-hybrid frequency in a parametrically unstable plasma is investigated. The analysis is restricted to the transitory quasi-linear stage of the development of the instability. Within the quasi-linear framework, the effect of the driven turbulence on the spatial damping of the pump wave and the mode conversion efficiency at the lower-hybrid resonance is discussed. Finally, it is found that, at a moderate level of the turbulent noise (W/n 0 T e ≃10-6), the pump wave experiences an appreciable dissipative effect.
