DEUTERIUM AND BERYLLIUM (n,2n) CROSS SECTIONS BETWEEN 6 AND 10 MEV

Journal Article · · Physical Review (U.S.) Superseded in part by Phys. Rev. A, Phys. Rev. B: Solid State, Phys. Rev. C, and Phys. Rev. D
The (n,2n) cross sections of deuterium and beryllium are measured for incident neutron energies from 6 to 10 Mev using a large liquid scintillator. The cross sections in barns obtained for deutenium are 0.067 plus or minus 0.007 at 6.11 Mev, 0.073 plus or minus 0.007 at 6.55 Mev, 0.088 plus or minus 0.009 at 7.32 Mev, 0.11 plus or minus 0.010 at 8.26 Mev, and 0.14 plus or minus 0.015 at 10.2 Mev. The beryllium cross sections are 0.55 plus or minus 0.08 at 6.55 Mev, 0.56 plus or minus 0.07 at 7.32 Mev, and 0.63 plus or minus 0.09 at 8.26 Mev. (auth)
