THE (n,p), (n,d) AND (n,$alpha$) REACTIONSL INDUCED BY FAST NEUTRONS IN CsI (TI) SCINTILLATION CRYSTALS

Pulse shape discriminntion was used to obtain the energy spectrum of the particles emitted in the nuclear reactions induced by fast neutrons in CsI(Tl) scintillation crystals. Structure is found in the spectrum which is attributed to the (n,d) reaction. The total charged particle cross-section averaged for / sup 133/Cs and /sup 127/I is found to be sigma = 26 plus or minus 3 mb. (auth)
