ORIENTED Tb$sup 160$ NUCLEI IN METALLIC TERBIUM. (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zh. Eksperim. i Teor. Fiz.
OSTI ID:4024017
Terbium-160 nuclei were polarized in a polycrystalline sample of metallic terbium that is ferromagnetic below 218 deg K. The sample was cooled to 0.03--0.04 deg K by adiabatic demagnetization. Cobalt-60 was employed as the thermometer. Anisotropy of the angular distribution of the 298-kev gamma rays was measured. The hyperfine splitting constant was defermined, A = 0.054 plus or minus 0.007 deg K. (auth)
