The influence of direct (J{sub d}) and alternating (J{sub a}) core-currents on the magnetization has been considered. A simple model of a ribbon consisting of two domains separated with {pi}-domain wall is used in order to explain the effects of core-currents on the M-H loop. The variations of the coercive field H{sub c} with the field H{sub p} induced by J{sub d} and J{sub a} have been calculated. The achievement of H{sub c} = 0 at sufficiently large H{sub p} is predicted both for J{sub d} and J{sub a}. The experiments performed on amorphous Co{sub 70.3}Fe{sub 4.7}S{sub 15}B{sub 10} ribbon yield H{sub c} = 0 for sufficiently large J{sub a} but not for J{sub d}. This discrepancy for J{sub d} can be explained in terms of the more complex domain structure of the actual ribbon.
