CHARACTERIZATION OF UO$sub 2$ POWDERS. Sixth Monthly Progress Report for March 1961

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4019712
The effects of ball milling on the ceramic performance of twelve U0/sub 2/ powders were evaluated. Pellets were prepared from the powders after wet ball milling and their green and fired densities measured. The data indicate that ball milling results in improved density and sintering and that a binder weaker than polyvinyl alcohol is needed for the ball milled U0/sub 2/. (D.L.C.)
