Precipitation of Y/sup 3//sup +/ with lanthanum oxalate forms mixed crystals. The crystallization coefficient does not depend on acidity from 0.1 to 1.5 N HNO/sub 3/ and is equal to 3.7. The crystallization coefficient decreases with increased oxalate ion as a result of Y/sup 3//sup +/ complexing. A sharp decrease in the crystallization coefficient occurs with an increase of "free" oxalate. (R.V.J.)
