THE ROLE OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH INSPECTOR IN DISASTER

The duties of the public health inspector will require him to supervise and report on water supplies including radiological status; supervise sanitation and radiological safety of all supplies of milk and food; supervise the processing of food, and inspect and report on all public sewage disposal facilities in overcrowded areas. Garbage disposal, control of insect parasites, and the sanitary inspection of welfare centers and emergency health units will be other responsibilities. Training of public health inspectors for civil defense preparedness is discussed. (BBB)
