> Measurements were made of the specific heats of Santowax-R, terphenyl isomers. diphenyl. and DowthermA. using an adlabatic calorimeter. The specific heats were found to increase linearly- with temperature, the slope being substantially the same for all the pure materials except p-terphenyl. The specific heat of Santowsx-R was approximately 1/2% less than the weighted mean of its components. The probable accuracy of the measurements was plus or minus 2%, which was confirmed by comparison with diphenyl ether. (auth)
