MEASUREMENT OF PROTON RANGES IN ILFORD K-1 EMULSION FOR ENERGIES BETWEEN 300 kev AND 1.2 Mev

Journal Article · · Nucl. Instr. Methods
The ranges of protons of energies between 300 kev and 1.2 Mev in Ilford K-1 emulsion have been measured by observing the knock-on protons produced by irradiating the emulsion with mono-energetic neutrons of known energy. Only protons recoiling within a 10 deg forward cone about the direction of the neutrons were accepted and the range of each proton is corrected to that for 0 deg scatter. The density of the emulsion was measured and the ranges are adjusted to an emulsion density 3.815 g per cc. (auth)
