Partition data, physical properties, and spectroscopic data indicate the formation of these complexes in solutions of tri-n-butyl phosphate and nitric acid: TBP x H/sub 2/O, TBP x H/sub 2/O x HNO/sub 3/, TBP x HNO/sub 3/, TBP x H/ sub 2/O x 2HNO/sub 3/, TBP H/sub 2/O x 3HNO/sub 3/, and TBP x 4HNO/sub 3/. Tri- methyl, tri-ethyl, and tri-n-butyl phosphate show no elvidence of existence of rotational isomers. (auth)
