ON THE USE OF MONTE CARLO METHODS FOR SOLVING GAMMA RADIATION TRANSPORT PROBLEMS

Journal Article · · Nukleonik (West Germany) Discontinued with vol. 12
OSTI ID:4011814
A description is given of various Monte Carlo programs that were developed for the Ferranti Mercury Computer solving gamma backscattering and penetration problems in plane, spherical, and cylindrical geometries. The energy region covered is 10 Mev to 10 kev. Results of several sample problems of interest in radiation physics and reactor shielding are presented. (auth)
