Fort Calhoun Station Unit No. 1 is Omaha Public Power District's first nuclear generating facility. A second unit (1150 MWe) is now in the design stage with operation scheduled for 1983. Unit No. 1 is a 480 MWe PWR located twenty miles north of Omaha, Nebraska, on the Missouri River. Instrumentation problems occurring in startup and testing are described.
