THE POLAROGRAPHIC DETERMINATION OF TIN INSTAINLESS STEEL

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4004996
A polarographic method is given for determining amounts of Sn as low as 10 mu g in stainless steel. In this method, the steel is dissolved in H/sub 2/ SO/sub 4/ and the Sn separated as the sulfide using Mo as carrier. The Mo is removed by coprecipitation of the Sn with Fe as hydroxides, and Sn is determined in HCl - NH/sub 4/Cl solution with a cathode-ray polarograph. (D.L.C.)
