THE REACTION F$sup 19$(d,n)Ne$sup 2$$sup 0$

Journal Article · · Nuclear Physics (Netherlands) Divided into Nucl. Phys. A and Nucl. Phys. B
Using a fast neutron time-of-flight spectrometer, the angular distributions of seven neutron groups leading to the ground state and the levels of /sup 20/Ne at 1.63, 4.25, 4.97, energies of 2.51, 2.61, 3.04, and 3.31 Mev. Only the neutron group to the 6.75-Mev level shows a clear stripping pattern at all energies, and it can be fitted with 1 = 0. The other angular distributions vary rapidly with energy and cannot be explained by plane wave stripping. The dimensionless stripping reduced width of the 6.75-Mev level at a bombarding energy of 3.31 Mev is theta /sup 2/ = 0.012. It is compared to the theoretical predictions of the unified model, along with the results of other experimenters. (auth)
