A MULTI-CHANNEL, TWO-DIMENSIONAL, TWO-PHASE FLOW MODEL AND IBM 7090 CODE

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4003958
A muiti-channel, two-dimensional, two-phase flow model and IBM 7090 code is presented. It is designed to compute the axial and radial coolant density and quality profiles, the axial pressure profile and the weight flow distribution for an open matrix flow, boiling water reactor. The code is demonstrated to be reasonably accurate for core inlet subcooling of 0 to 65 deg F, core pressure of 1000 to 1225 psia, coolant mass flux of (0.5to 4) x 10/sup 6/ lb/hr-ft/sup 2/, mixed mean coolant exit quality of 0 to 25%, and average core heat flux of (0.1 to 1.6) x 10/sup 6/ Btu/hr-ft/sup 2/.
