GRATIS--A MONTE CARLO COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR CALCULATING TRANSMISSION INFORMATION FOR SECONDARY GAMMA RADIATION

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4001552

The program GRATIS, designed to calculate gamma transmission information for primary and secondary radiation, is described. A plane, stratified slab of finite thickness and infinite lateral dimensions, consisting of eight slab layers, is considered. Calculations can be made for neutron-induced gamma rays distributed in a slab, a plane isotropic gamma source located outside a slab, a combination of the two preceding cases, monodirectional gamma beams, and bremsstrahlung originating within the slab. The theory is presented, together with flow charts. Results obtained with the program are comparred with other results. (auth)
