THE SCATTERING OF BEAMS OF ALKALI ATOMS IN VARIOUS GASES. II. SODIUM ATOM BEAM IN NON-REACTIVE AND REACTIVE GASES
Weakening of sodium beams scattered in Ar, He, H/sub 2/, CO, CO/sub 2/, Ne, N/sub 2/, NO, and 0/sub 2/ is graphically shown. Calculated results are presented for relative pressures of scattering gas in the scattering-, the oven-, and the detectorchambers; mean free paths at 10/sup -4/ mm Hg; effective collision radii; collision cross sections; and classical kinetic values.
