The release of load mechanism during rock breakage by explosives was founded by Dr. T.N. Hagan and published at the Sixth International Colloquium on Gasdynamics of Explosions and Reactive Systems Stockholm, Sweden, 1977. The author found it useful in predicting the direction of rock fragments movement during blasting, that the blaster can manipulate the initiation sequence according to this direction to optimize the blasting performance.
