Somewhat neglected in the extensive recent literature concerning the ratio of double-to-single photoionization in He is the important role of single ionization with excitation compared to the single ionization alone. Therefore, the authors have undertaken the study of the intensity and angular distribution of helium satellites relative to the main photoline as a function of photon energy especially at photon energies well above threshold. The measurements were performed at Hasylab and at the ALS using 2 Time-of-Flight spectrometers. While the results for the angular distribution of the satellites are already published, the authors put here emphasis on the satellite-to-main-line ratio and its high energy asymptotic limit. Their results will be compared to theoretical calculations.
