The authors have measured recoil ion momentum spectra for 100 keV p + He collisions. In the spectra for the momentum component in the direction of the incident projectile beam, target ionization can clearly be separated from electron capture to the projectile. From their data triply differential cross sections as a function of all three recoil ion momentum components are deduced. As a next step, the recoil ions will be measured in coincidence with the projectiles for which all three momentum components will be measured as well. From these data it will be possible to determine the complete final state (except for spin) of the entire collision system.
