Pipeline project requires varying construction techniques

This paper reviews the construction and directional drilling design associated with a oil and gas pipelines project in the Scott Bay area of Houston, Texas. The project included pulling over 5,000 feet of 16-inch pipeline through the drilled bay crossing. The paper discusses the pipeline route, the drilling equipment used, the tie-in methods, and methods for replacing 8 miles of land laid pipelines.
