Exploration comes to life in sleepy Dominican Republic

This paper reviews the exploration history of the Dominican Republic and describes two new exploration programs currently underway to drill in two of the regions sedimentary basins. Drilling is to occur in the Cibao and Azua-Bani basins based on a review of existing well logs and seismic data. The paper also briefly describes the regional setting and geology of these basins.
