Collisional propagation effects in collision-induced rotational spectra
- Department of Physics, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T2N2 (CANADA)
A theoretical approach is developed to describe the effect of the anisotropy of the intermolecular potential on the far wings of the profile of collision-induced rotational spectra for a linear-molecule{endash}inert-gas atom system. A calculation is made for a simple model system, and collisional propagation is found to have a significant role in determining the profile. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
