L-dependent n-{sup 16}O optical model potential

Our potential is the local equivalent to a microscopic one which includes the effect of exchange exactly. It is a linear combination of two, special Hartree potentials for the s and p-shells of {sup 16}O, Vo(r) and Vi(r), respectively. The two r-independent but L-dependent coefficients No(L) and N{sub 1}(L) are determined by the conditions that (1) the scattering S-matrix elements be the same as that of the non-local one, and (2) the scattering wave function approximate as closely as possible that of the non-local potential. Both conditions can be Implemented for each L through algebraic matrix equations because the wave functions are expanded on a basis of St urmian Bessel functions. The deviation of the non-local from the local wave function (a Perey factor), will be compared with that for a L-Independent local potential obtained by inversion in a previous study.
