We review the experimental results of our research on longitudinal dynamics of space-charge dominated beams. The topics include three recent experiments. In the longitudinal compression experiments, we investigated the longitudinal density profiles of bunched beams. In the space-charge wave experiments, we studied the behavior of localized perturbations as fast and slow waves in beams. The resistive-wall instability experiments were designed to measure the growth of perturbations in a dissipative environment, and the damages to beam quality. On-going and future work is also discussed. {copyright} {ital 1996 American Institute of Physics.}
