A study of toxic emissions from a gasification-combined cycle (GCC) power plant. Final report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:383584
Emissions measurements were made in the major input, process, and output streams of the 161-MWe Louisiana Gasification Technology, Inc., (LGTI) gasification combined cycle (GCC) plant in Plaquemine, Louisiana. Output and input measurements used protocols essentially identical to those used in previous DOE and EPRI studies and met project data quality objectives. Measurements made of internal streams at pressure in a reducing environment employed less well validated methods and produced conflicting results in some cases. Overall, LGTI`s emissions of hazardous air pollutants were quite low. Quality assurance/quality control results for the emissions streams show that 76% of the trace element balances met the material balance objectives of 70--130% closure. Some reduction of the concentration of trace substances in the syngas was measured across the Selectamine{trademark} unit for both vapor-phase elements and organics. 16 figs., 48 tabs.
