Top quark to top squark branching fraction limits from the Fermilab Tevatron top quark experiments
- Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Hawaii, Honolulu, Hawaii 96822 (United States)
SUSY events in which a light top squark decays to a chargino may manage to pass the cuts designed for top counting experiments at the Fermilab Tevatron with no significant diminution of signal. Events in which a top decays via a top squark are detected with fair efficiency compared to SM top events when {ital {tilde t}}{sub 1}{r_arrow}{ital b{tilde W}}{sub 1}. More importantly, direct pair production of light top squarks contributes significantly to the cut samples. Many SUSY models with top squarks lighter than 100 GeV are viable even for {Gamma}({ital t}{r_arrow}{ital {tilde t}}{sub 1}){approx_equal}{Gamma}({ital t}{r_arrow}{ital bW}). {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
