Ozone use in cooling towers has continued, but at a much lower rate of expansion than five (5) years ago. The reasons for this reduction are primarily due to a better understanding of the ozone performance requirements. Ozone is not a complete treatment in most cases and is limited due to high costs for installation. Specific case histories are reviewed along with updated guidelines for ozone applications and economic evaluation.
