Heavy mesons in a relativistic model

A relativistic constituent quark model for mesons containing one or two heavy quarks is constructed using the spectator or Cross equation. The wave equation is expanded to order 1/m{sub Q} for heavy-light mesons and to order 1/m{sup 2}{sub Q} for heavy-heavy mesons where m{sub Q} is the heavy quark mass. The interaction is assumed to consist of a vector color Coulomb interaction and a scalar linear confining interaction. Calculations of mass spectra are in reasonable agreement with experimental measurements for a reasonable set of input parameters. The light-heavy wave functions are used to calculate the Isgur-Wise function to leading order.
