Jet production at large rapidity levels at D0

The authors study inclusive dijet production in the semihard region (s{much_gt}Q{sup 2}) using data from the 1992-1993 Tevatron Collider run collected by the D0 detector. The decorrelation of jet azimuths has been analyzed as a function of pseudorapidity {eta} interval in the region of {eta}< 3.0. In addition the authors measure the ratio of the inclusive dijet triple differential cross sections for different transverse momentum cutoffs. BFKL resumation, which resums the leading powers of the rapidity interval to all orders in {alpha}{sub s}, predicts an enhancement of soft gluon emmission between the two tagging jets possibly resulting in the azimuthal decorrelation. These gluons may also cause a decorrelation in the transverse momentum of the jets producing an enhancement of the triple differential cross section with a lower transverse momentum cutoff. A comparison to this data is made using a next-to-leading order parton level Monte Carlo (JETRAD), a parton shower Monte Carlo (HERWIG), and a theoretical prediction based on the BFKL resummation technique.
