The hard magnetic properties of NdFe{sub 12{minus}x}Mo{sub x}N{sub 0.9} with low Mo concentration (X = 1.25 and 1.5) have been studied. The coercivity varies with the ball milling time and reaches a maximum at about 800 minutes. Coercivity values {mu}{sub oJ}H{sub c} of 0.64 T and 0.55 T have been achieved for nitrides with x = 1.25 and 1.5, respectively. The oxygen content of ball milled nitrides is less than 1 wt%. Metal bonding of NdFe{sub 12{minus}x}Mo{sub x}N{sub 0.9} with Zn has less effect on coercivity than for Sm{sub 2}Fe{sub 17}N{sub y}.
