Site Investigation Report, Illinois Air National Guard, 183rd Fighter Group Capital Airport, Springfield, Illinois, Volume I - Text. This is the first volume of a two Volume site investigation report. Two sites (Site 1 - POL Storage Area, and Site 2 - Old Fire Training Area) were investigated under the Installation Restoration Program. Soil and ground-water samples were collected from both sites and analyzed. Surface water and sediment samples were collected from Site 2 and analyzed. Monitoring of the dissolved hydrocarbon plume using existing monitoring wells was recommended for Site 1. A Remedial Investigation to define the nature and extent of soil and groundwater contamination was recommended for Site 2.
