The new multiblock copolymer with main PEO and small oxy(p-xylene) oxymethylene blocks can be synthesized by the direct polycondensation method. The copolymer has shown no crystallinity in either the host copolymer or its complex with LiCF{sub 3}SO{sub 3} at room temperature. The ionic conductivity of the polymer electrolyte reach 6 x 10{sup -6} S/cm at room temperature, which would make it a candidate for polymer electrolytes.
