Elimination of copper ion from its dilute aqueous solution by various carbon fibers under applied cathodic potentials

In a previous paper, we reported that residual concentration of copper ion in its aqueous solution c was reduced by an activated carbon fiber under applied cathodic potentials in a relation given by log c = pt+q (p, q: constants). This presentation is concerned with the questions whether the relation still holds when other carbon fibers are employed, and what sort of fiber performs well. Experimental results revealed that the relation was still a reasonable approximation, and that many fibers performed better than the activated carbon fiber.
