Aqueous alkanolamine solutions are commonly used for the removal of H{sub 2}S and CO{sub 2} from natural gas streams. The solubility of hydrocarbons in the amine solutions is of interest, since the hydrocarbons which dissolve in the solution represent a loss of valuable products. The solubility of ethane in three triethanolamine solutions (2, 3, and 5 mol/dm{sup 3}) has been determined at five temperatures between 25 and 125 C at pressures up to 20 MPa.
