PG and E open system communications architecture project -- Volume 2: Commercial customer applications demonstration. Final report
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG and E) has supported the development of open systems concepts and standards in data communications and the application of computer hardware and software to help solve its day-to-day business problems. PG and E participated in two projects that were intended to demonstrate and evaluate the benefits of Utility Communications Architecture (UCA{trademark}) and Database Access Integration Services (DAIS{trademark}) in its operational environment. Volume 1 describes the results of the development of a UCA/DAIS infrastructure. Volume 2 describes the results of the development of Power Quality and Load Profile applications as well as Graphical User Interfaces, which were developed for PG and E users and the Commercial Customers participating in the demonstration. The PG and E customers used these to interact with and make use of the information provided in their business.
