The Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB) Barstow is in San Bernardino County, California, in the central Mojave Desert approximately 135 miles northeast of Los Angeles. This decision document presents the selected remedial actions for the three contaminant plumes identified in the OU 1 (Yermo Annex plume) and OU 2 (Nebo North and South plumes) aquifers at MCLB Barstow. The selected remedy involves groundwater extraction, ex situ treatment and recharge of treated groundwater back into the aquifer, and air sparging/soil vapor extraction (AS/SVE) systems for groundwater and vadose zone VOC mass removal. Monitoring will be conducted to verify adherence to groundwater cleanup standards.
