The most general description of a fluid flow is obtained from the full system of Navier-Stokes equations. These equations do not have solutions in closed form formula, so numerical techniques have to be used, amongst which the finite element method is the most used and still evolving technique. This work can be used as a self-teaching tutorial for students. Includes worked exercises and numerous examples and shows readers how to build their own computer code.
