Fraser River action plan: Urban issues

This report reviews the state of the environment around urban areas on the Fraser River watershed and Fraser River Action Plan activities as they relate to minimizing the effect of urban areas on the environment. Subjects covered include the effect of cities on the environment; signs of urban stress; the importance of urban runoff as a pollution source, with a case study of the Brunette River watershed; sewage treatment and water conservation; non-point sources of pollution and management practices; recycling; contaminated sites; air quality and its management; habitat protection; and wood waste as a potential resource.
